2025 - April 17- DEI Webinar
Akron Area SHRM is inviting you to the next DEI Webinar, “Creating a Safe Space for Immigrant and Refugee Workers." The webinar will be facilitated by Evelyn S Williams, PhD, MEd, CA.
This is a FREE EVENT. Please register and we'll send you the zoom login information with your email/registration confirmation.
Session Description: Recognizing that personal stresses of the current climate can impact performance- we will look at how to use the SAMSHA Trauma-informed Approach to create a safe environment for immigrant and refugee workers in our workplace. The Trauma-informed Approach can also provide helpful strategies for working with those reporting substance use, mental health issues, discrimination, family difficulties, or other stressful situations. This is a great way to boost HR soft skills with practical takeaways.
